MAX TRANSFER UPDATES: Saudi emissaries meets Chelsea’s N’golo Kanté

Date:

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Saudi emissaries are in London to officially present Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté (32) with a contract proposal.

Kanté’s future remains unclear and has been for many months. It was reported back in February that the France international was set to sign a contract extension with the Stamford Bridge club, but nothing has yet been signed.

Kanté’s priority was to stay at Chelsea, whilst the player’s agent has previously expressed his client’s desire to remain in London.

However, amidst the uncertainty, the Saudi Arabian top-flight are ready to swoop. A delegation is currently in London to table a proposal for Kanté, whose Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season. The two clubs in question are Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, and Al Ittihad, where Karim Benzema is expected to sign later today

The Saudi bid for Kanté could be worth €100m, including image rights and commercial deals, according to Romano. The Saudi Arabian top-flight are hoping for a busy summer of arrivals, and, according to AFPare targeting 10 high-profile players from Europe’s top divisions.
