Renowned rapper Armstrong Affum, known in the showbiz circles as Dadie Opanka, has disclosed that Ghanaians are failing to fully appreciate and protect the ‘December in Ghana’ initiative.
According to him, the act is sending a big event like Detty December to the backstage for competition.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the “wedding car” hitmaker expressed the need for Ghana to cherish and hold what the country has to prevent competition.
I think we are not losing anything. We are the ones trying to lose what we have. Honestly, our December in Ghana is a big thing overseas. “Not just to the Ghanaian communities but to the diasporas,” he stated.
Opanka maintained that the diasporas were always elated to experience the December in Ghana, thus underscoring the need for Ghanaians to protect and secure the event for the benefit of the industry and Ghana at large.
It’s something for Ghana that our people should really hold high. “We don’t see the value of what we have, and that’s why Nigeria wants to take over,” he added.
