COLTS FOOTBALL: Greater Accra League kicks off in grand style

The 2023/24 Greater Accra Regional COLTS League kicked off at the Carl Reindorf Park in
Dansoman on Saturday, January 3, 2024.

Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, Samuel Aboabire, performed the
ceremonial kickoff to mark the commencement of another exciting chapter in grassroots football.

Great SOMAS faced off with Dansoman Photofas in the day’s first match – an encounter that
produced five goals – a SOMAS overcoming Photofas 4-1 to get off to a flying start. The young talents
left spectators in awe with their skills and raw talent.

There are a total of 34 COLTS clubs in the Accra West District Football Association. Each of these
clubs have U17, U15 and U13 teams that compete in the League every season. There are two
categories for their Colts League which includes two Zones in Premier, with each comprising of 12
clubs and a Division One category which host 10 clubs making a total of 34 clubs.

COLTS football enthusiasts can expect an array of thrilling encounters from over 400 COLTS clubs in
the region, as these budding talents vie for glory and recognition.

Notable match venues for this seasons League – include Mamprobi Indafa Park, Karikari Brobey
Park, Dansoman 1&2 Park, Salvation Park, Naa Korle Par, Sahara Park, Ken Harrison Park among
others.
