The 2023/24 Kojo Oku Gala Fiesta in the Central Region, put together by the JoeFat Foundation, was won by Laigodo Football Club at the Cemetery Park in Kojo Oku, a suburb in the Nyanyano Municipality.
The third edition of the tournament saw eight teams engage each other from December 31st, 2023, to January 1st, 2024, with cagey encounters showcased with great football talents exhibited at their greatest apogee.
Teams like New Bubiashie FC, Young Boys, Young Stars, Cemetery FC,New Madina FC, Stamford Bridge FC, Laigodo FC, and Fortuner FC all battled for the ultimate, but the onus settled on Laigodo FC as the ultimate winner.
The day saw august personalities gracing the occasion, such as Mikki Osei Berko, the Fulani chief of Kojo Oku, and Saraiki Bala, with some important opinion leaders also present.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the JoeFat Foundation, the organizers, Fiifi Afful,
“This voluntary gesture is to bring the members of the communities together and spot future talents to promote them to join the youth national teams such as the U-17, U-20, and possibly the Black Stars in the near future,” he told MAX TV.
The 1st Runner Up: Cemetery FC( former winners), 2nd Runner Up: New Madina, 3rd Runner Up: New Bubiashie all-winners took cartons of drinks of various quantities with sets of jerseys and footballs.
Next year, organizers have promised to expand it and make it bigger, so any interested sponsor can get in touch to support them.
