The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is set to honour Highlife artist Fameye for his massive win at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) 2025.
The award is also to inspire young talents to embrace the highlife genre to help sell the authentic Ghanaian music to the outside world.
Fameye will be celebrated in an event set to take place on Saturday, July 19, at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra.
The celebration, which will be held in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority, National Folklore Board, and Charterhouse, aims to spotlight the legacy and evolution of Ghanaian highlife music.
It will feature performances from an impressive line-up of veteran and contemporary musicians, including Pat Thomas, Samuel Owusu, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Adani Best, Pauline Oduro, Sherifa Gunu, Aklerh, and Bessa Simons with The Bessa Band.
Fameye’s emotive style and consistent commitment to highlife have positioned him as a prominent voice in the current Ghanaian music scene, hence the honorary.
