The organisers of the Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Cup will kick off the official trophy tour ahead of this year’s edition on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Led by renowned football administrator Samuel Anim Addo, the team will present the prestigious trophy to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, as part of efforts to build excitement for the upcoming event.
The trophy tour serves as a key promotional activity ahead of the highly anticipated off-season showdown between Accra Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions—a match designed to foster peace and unity within the Ga community.
Scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, the special anniversary game is organised under the patronage of the Gbese Mantse, the traditional ruler of the Gbese State, and combines the celebration of culture, tradition, and football.
The NYA will be the first stop of the trophy tour, which aims to energise fans, stakeholders, and community members ahead of the ceremonial clash.
This year’s Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Cup promises to be more than just a football match—it is a celebration of heritage, peace, and sporting excellence.
