Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, Dr. Randy Abbey, has confirmed that Ghana’s senior national team will participate in a four-nation international tournament during the next FIFA international break in June.
This friendly competition will provide the Black Stars with a crucial opportunity to continue their rebuilding process ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
Ghana’s national team had a successful March international window, securing back-to-back wins against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, propelling them to the top of Group I.
According to the FIFA calendar, the Black Stars’ next competitive match is scheduled for September, but Dr. Abbey has hinted at friendly matches in June to maintain the team’s momentum.
“Fortunately, the technical team and management will have the opportunity to further work on the team because, in June, we don’t have qualifiers, so we will be playing a four-nation friendly in England. I am sure it will be an opportunity for the coaches to do some further work on the team,” Dr. Abbey told 3Sports.
The tournament will also serve as a platform for injured players to make a return and gain valuable match fitness ahead of Ghana’s crucial fixtures in September.
The upcoming four-nation tournament in England is expected to be a significant test for the Black Stars, allowing the technical team to assess players, strengthen tactics, and build chemistry ahead of key international assignments.
